A Systematic Review of Herbal Medicinal Formulas for Skin Disease Treatment
with Thai Traditional Medicine Wisdom

Abstract
This documentary research aimed to explore the information on the use of herbs and the structure of herbal
medicinal formulas for the treatment of skin diseases based on Thai traditional medicine. The study involved
the search for, and reviews of, relevant research articles that had been published in electronic databases during
2011–2021. The results have shown that a total of 133 medicinal formulas are collected, including 262 species. The
most common method for skin herbal administration is topical application (72 recipes). Most of the herbs belong to
the family Leguminosae (14 species). The most common medicinal plant with the high frequency for the treatment
of skin diseases is Khao Yen Nuea (4.20). Root is the plant part that is commonly utilized for the treatment (79
species). The flavor of most herbal medicines is astringent (34 species). Overall, based on the dermatological drug
formula structure, astringent herbs are most favorable, followed by drunken herbs. Thus, the results of this study
could be valuable for further studies to invent any commercial herbal products for skin disease treatment with an
added value for Thai herbs; and they can be used as guidelines for the establishment of herbal medicine formulas
for treating skin diseases by Thai traditional medical doctors.

บทนำ�และวัตถุประสงค์ กระทบจากความเจ็บป่วยและจากการรักษา เนื่องจาก

โรคผิวหนังเป็นโรคที่สามารถพบได้บ่อยทั่วไป อาการแสดงในโรคผิวหนังมีความหลากหลาย การ

จัดอยู่ในกลุ่มโรคที่ไม่เป็นอันตรายต่อชีวิต แต่ปัญหา รักษาจึงขึ้นอยู่กับความรุนแรงของโรค และโรคอาจ
ของโรคนี้คือมักปรากฏรอยโรคให้เห็นอย่างชัดเจน รุนแรงขึ้นได้ภายหลังจึงมีผลต่อคุณภาพชีวิตทั้งทาง
ท�าให้มีผลกระทบทางด้านจิตใจของผู้ป่วย ขาดความ ร่างกาย จิตใจ อารมณ์ และสังคมแตกต่างกันไป โรค

มั่นใจในการอยู่ร่วมกันกับผู้อื่น การเข้าสังคม โดย ผิวหนังบางโรคความเครียดและวิตกกังวลก็จะส่งผล
บุคคลรอบข้างมักมีความกังวลว่าจะมีการติดต่อมาสู่ ให้อาการของโรครุนแรงมากยิ่งขึ้น [1]
