Traditional Herbal Recipes for Leucorrhea: A Case Study of Southern

Abstract

At the present, there are several methods of health care such as modern medicine and Traditional Chinese
Medicine. In addition, there are many Thai people who still rely on the traditional medical treatments that belong to
their local wisdom and are important in Thailand. Their reasons for using traditional Thai medicine are convenience,
Saving money and efficiency. In rural areas, the key person who takes the important role in local health care is the
folk healer. This study aims to collect information about Mr. Saturn Homkat’s wisdom to be the base data for the
development of other folk healers, as well as social benefits. Moreover, this information can be further applied to
the health care planning. The objectives of this study were to collect general information, to understand the role of
folk healers, to become familiar with diseases and their symptoms and to study the types of treatments employed
by folk healers. who live in Thung Song, Nakhonsrithammarat. This is a qualitative research. Folk healers were
selected according to specific criteria. A questionnaire was used as the research tool. The researchers focused on the
folk healers who still treat people. The results showed a folk healer living in Thung Song, Nakhonsri Thammarat,
named Mr. Saturn Homkat, who has specialized in the treatment of women for a long time. Treatment consists of a
recipe which uses 15 species of herbs. This recipe has been proved as an effective, alternative leucorrhea treatment.
Clinical studies should be continued in the future.

บทนำ� โลกมากกว่า 170 ล้านคนทั่วโลกต่อปี สำาหรับผู้หญิง

ตกขาว (leucorrhea) หรือระดูขาว คืออาการที่ ส่วนใหญ่จะได้รับผลกระทบที่ช่องคลอดและปาก
มีของเหลวที่ไม่ใช่เลือดไหลออกมาทางช่องคลอดของ มดลูก รองลงมาคือในทางเดินปัสสาวะ ทางด้านการ
ผู้หญิงอาจมีลักษณะใส ไม่มีกลิ่น มีสีขาวข้นเหมือน แพทย์แผนไทยกล่าวถึงอาการตกขาวหรือระดูขาว

แป้งเปียก หรือมีสีเหลือง หรือสีเขียว อาจมีกลิ่นเหม็น ว่าเป็นมุตกิด เป็นชื่อโรคชนิดหนึ่งที่เกิดขึ้นในผู้หญิง

และอาการคันและในผู้ป่วยบางรายอาจมีไข้ร่วมด้วย อาการของโรคจะมีระดูขาว ลักษณะเหมือนนำาปัสสาวะ
ซึ่งในบางครั้งอาการคันช่องคลอดหรือคันปากช่อง ขุ่นข้นไหลออกมาบริเวณปากทวาร มีเม็ดผุดขึ้นหรือ
คลอดอาจมีตกขาวหรือไม่มีก็ได้ สาเหตุของอาการ แผลคัน มีอาการแสบ เหม็นคาว หน้ามืด เวียนศีรษะ
ตกขาวแบ่งเป็น 2 ประเภท คือ ตกขาวที่มีสาเหตุมา เป็นต้น [1-2]

จากการติดเชื้อและตกขาวที่ไม่เกิดจากการติดเชื้อ ซึ่ง ปัจจุบันการรักษาอาการตกขาวที่เกิดจากการ
เชื้อ Trichomonas vaginalis เป็นเชื้อก่อโรคติดต่อ ติดเชื้อมีหลายหนทาง เช่น การใช้ยาเหน็บช่องคลอด
จากการมีเพศสัมพันธ์และแพร่กระจายมากที่สุดใน หรือใช้ยาคีโตโคนาโซล แต่ทั้งนี้ยาที่ใช้ในการรักษา
